Following successful service trips to Thailand in 2007 and 2008, Wisdom Culture and Education Organization initiated Connexpedition in 2011 to offer more international volunteer opportunities to high school students in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Since then, we have expanded our program to include volunteers from the Greater Seattle Area, allowing for more than a total of 500 high school students to volunteer overseas in Taiwan, teaching English and sharing their American culture while exploring the traditions, lifestyle, and values of the island nation.

Through the years we have assisted children's orphanages, hosted English enrichment camps in an entire school district, and served underprivileged aboriginal children in the Jade Mountain range. Our volunteers have impacted the lives of over 3,000 students.

Our Program’s History

2012-2019
Vox Nativa

From 2012 through 2019, Connexpedition members had the privilege of volunteering at Vox Nativa Music School in Nantou County. While being in close proximity of aboriginal Bunun culture and situated in Taiwan’s tallest mountains, the Jade Mountain Range (玉山山脈), it was a truly unique and unforgettable experience.

2015-2022
New Taipei City (EASY LEAP)

Connexpedition members designed and led a two-week-long English summer camp called EASY LEAP for the Education Department of New Taipei City. Following the service trip, volunteers continued to mentor their students during the school year via online classes with video conferencing technology.

2023 and beyond
New Taipei City (BBNA)

Join us as we embark on our next project with New Taipei City called BBNA. Connexpedition members will be tasked with creating a one-week-long program for middle school students in Taiwan to improve their English fluency and gain confidence in their English speaking. Before traveling to Taiwan in the summer, volunteers will first meet and mentor their students online.
